Save Lives in Leigh-on-Sea
Every year 300,000 people in the UK suffer a heart attack. Every minute without basic life support reduces the chance of survival by 7 - 10%.
Leigh Community First Responders are volunteers trained to attend emergency calls received by the ambulance service and provide care in those vital few minutes until an ambulance arrives. In 2010, we attended 338 calls in Leigh, of which 13 were cardiac arrests. See:
We are looking for more volunteers to join our team and save lives in Leigh. Full training is provided and no previous medical experience is required.
